I’m 47 and I’m literally going through this right now, especially after having an anxiety attack last year. Since then, I’ve been re-wiring my brain to what is new and safe.

A calm, thorough and clearly labeled essay explaining a clear path to "making sense" of my fear based, lightening paced exhaustion. Much thanks!!!!

This article is SO packed with good information, it will take some time to process it all. Thank you for writing it and sharing it with us. I love learning new things about neuroscience!

Brilliant work 👏🏻 my counsellor told me a lot of this stuff, and it’s good to read it again in slightly different words.

Thank you xx

Hmm.... I could've left after 18 years. It's the 35 years that make it damn near impossible.

Thank you for laying this all out so beautifully, Ellen. It really helped me recognize some of my own patterns, and I’m especially grateful that you didn’t just explain the why, but also shared ways we can work with our brains going forward.

This was so insightful. I think I knew it but needed it spelling out - validation- which probably says a lot about where I’m coming from! Thank you 🙏

Brilliantly put - I’m entering a whole new era in my 60s of making decisions that are good for me after a lifetime of people pleasing (my mother’s livid!) - and as scary as it feels, I’m doing it

Really enjoyed this piece. Many of the terms I've heard before (confirmation bias, sunken cost), but I love how you write about them with such clarity. I greatly appreciate it! And I feel like I've got some great tips to use too! Thank you.

Great piece, Ellen. I so appreciate your explanation of how our brain works to keep us safe and alive. The pathways that helped us survive trauma in our younger life, no longer serve us and we can re-wire our neural pathways. This is so encouraging and so helpful.
