Thank you for naming this. Those of us who didn’t learn healthy anger can be really taken aback by these sudden reactions. I’ve now learned to cherish my anger, as it always leads me back to myself - what happened there? What have I been tolerating I’m no longer willing to? I now get to feel my anger without it needing to be projected on to anyone or the situation.
I definitely had the dishwasher moment yesterday and how karmic this article dropped into my inbox this morning. My dishwasher was a demand about dinner, my crash out was monumental and ugly, and the explosion was over far more than a few extra yeses. But…the solution is hard, crushing for our son, a life change that terrify me. So, as I usually do, and l’ll probably bury how I really feel for another decade 🤦♀️
